Job description

The Company

Our client is a large, international engineering company who manufacture and service specialised process engineering equipment for the FMCG and utilities industries. They manufacture all their equipment from scratch at their modern production site in Hamilton. They are a champion of Lean principles.

The Role

We are seeking someone from a mix of mechanical and electrical background to install, service, maintain and repair process engineering equipment on site. Specifically, if you have experience working on instruments such as temperature, flow, pressure sensors/ meters, etc., it would be highly desirable.

As part of the service team, this is a hands-on role that requires frequent travel to site often especially during large scale plant shutdown periods, and operates in a safety critical environment. However, throughout most of the year, the majority of the jobs will be locally in the Waikato region.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have excellent hands-on, fault-finding skills. Ideally you will have previous experience working in a hygiene critical or/ and hazardous environment, such as in the dairy, oil and gas industry, or similar. Training in instrumentation can be provided for the right candidate - a highly desired skill in the process industry.

Other tasks of this role include carrying out inspections, calibrations and maintaining accurate service records. Therefore, an attention to detail and admin skills are also important for this role.

In summary, the requirements are,

  • Instrumentation Technician or Fitter with electronics/ electrical experience, with a background in large-scale production or industrial processing
  • Hands-on fault-finding skills
  • Instrumentation, automation controls, and process engineering equipment experience is nice to have but not essential
  • Have the flexibility to travel
  • Experience working in a hazardous environment is nice to have
  • Attention to detail and admin skills

On offer is an excellent wage of $40 to $43 per hour plus time and a half overtime, travel allowance, call out allowance, 4% Kiwisaver, use of a vehicle, company wide bonus, and more. This is a great role if long-term security and travel costs are important to you.

Please be assured all applications are considered highly confidential always. Don’t delay in applying for one of these fantastic roles or contact Darren on 021 503 742. If you’re successful in being short listed, pre-employment checks including drug testing and MOJ checks will be conducted as part of the vetting process. You will need to be eligible to work in NZ and have open work rights.
