We’re looking for a reliable, hands-on person to join a small, friendly workshop team in Te Rapa. This is a permanent opportunity with a well-established New Zealand manufacturer, working with firearm components. The role is primarily focused on assembling firearm components, and making sure finished products meet a high standard before they reach customers. You’ll also be responsible for packing and dispatching orders, along with general workshop duties. If you’re practical, take pride in your work, and have a great eye for detail, this could be a great opportunity to secure a stable, long-term role. A valid NZ Firearms Licence is a MUST, applicants without this will NOT be considered.
What you'll be doing:
- Assembling firearm components
- Checking parts for quality, accuracy and finish
- Completing visual and dimensional inspections
- Packing and dispatching customer orders
- Assisting with general workshop duties
What we're looking for:
- A current New Zealand Firearms Licence (essential)
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
- A practical, hands-on approach and good problem-solving skills
- The ability to follow processes and maintain high-quality standards
- Someone reliable, punctual and comfortable working independently
- A positive attitude and willingness to help out across the workshop
- Previous experience in manufacturing, mechanical work, engineering, or quality control would be an advantage, but we're open to someone with the right practical skills and attitude.
What's on offer?
- Permanent employment Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm
- $28–$35 per hour, depending on experience
- A small, supportive and friendly team
- Varied, hands-on work in a workshop environment
- The opportunity to develop your skills working with precision components
If you're looking for a hands-on role where quality and attention to detail really matter, we'd love to hear from you!
